Mom Having Surgery

August 14th, 2013 at 04:11 pm

My mom is having surgery today. It is not a particularly risky surgery, but my mom is 80. Please think positive thoughts for her, pray for her, or release other positive energy in accordance with your belief system. Thank you. Smile

I will go and visit her tonight in the hospital. If all goes well, she will be released tomorrow. I will spend the night with her Thursday, and will most likely take Friday off from work. She is so stubborn, insisting she will not need any help. However, I think she will be exhausted and not up to doing things for herself.

In chippy news, I received $3 from PineCone for my very first survey, and have already sent it off to E Fund. I have not yet been paid for my July hours from my part-time job. Meanwhile, I worked 9 hours in August. The bookkeeper said she will pay me for both July and August next month. How do you like that?

She will be exhausted and not up to doing for herself. I don't care what kind of surgery it is. I will keep her in my thoughts.

Prayers and get well soon thought to mom. At 80 anything to do with hospitals is exhausting no matter how stubborn your mom is. It would really help to make up some simple veggie dishes that could be eaten without being reheated, fresh fruit salad and soup that is easily eaten from a mug.

Thinking of your mom. I hope she makes a speedy recovery. Why is the bookkeeper going to pay you next month? That sounds unfair!

Your Mom is in my prayers. I agree with IndianGal, the late paying is unfair.

Good news. The surgery went well and Mom is recovering. Smile

Re the part-time job, yes, it is frustrating. I was very clear upfront that I expect to be paid promptly each month. I am not an employee, so billing them for my hours. How it has been working is I send an invoice for one month's hours, and then when I go the next month, there is a check waiting for me. This month, there was no check. When I go in September, if there is not a check waiting for me, I will leave. They are having cash flow problems and I understand that, but I am not working for free.

Good news. Smile I agree with you about not getting paid each month. One more chance and that is it.
