Cruise is Booked; Car Fund Update

Well, we booked our cruise yesterday. We don't leave for nearly 4 months. That's OK, because the anticipation is part of the fun. Smile

Recent car fund activity includes my budgeted transfer for September ($170), payment from part-time job for August ($200), Capital One Quicksilver credit card rewards ($14.56), and interest ($.44). Car Fund's new blance is $1,124.87.

    How exciting!!!! If it is not too much info where are you going? We cruised the last two winters and loved it! The lovely folks at Cruise Critic even helped me save some $ after booking last winter.

    Hi Bright. We are doing a 7 day round trip cruise from LA. We will be stopping in Cabo, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. The total cost (fare, port taxes, travel insurance) was just over $2700, for 4 people.

    Delighted you're taking the cruise. Which cruise line? You've lots of time to research excursions that meet your interests. If you book on-line or even from the locals who await disembarking tourists, it should cost about half the fee charged by the cruise lines. I hope someone explained there is a daily gratuity charged to your cabin and your cabin attendant is usually tipped in cash on the last day.

    Hi Snafu. This is a Princess cruise. Yes, this is my third cruise so am aware of the gratuity. I've been looking at the excursions already. I did not know there is an actual Hotel California, and it is in Mazatlan. I definitely want to see that.
