A California native transplanted in southern Illinois.The home inspection showed a lot of issues. I expected that there would be some, so it was not surprising to see the long list. Some of them were no big deal, but a couple of them were deal-breakers. For example, there is an old water leak in the bathroom. Water is going into the subfloor and has been for some time, but no repairs have been made. Water is going into the wall around one of the AC units because there is no barrier, even though there should be. There is standing water in the crawlspace under the house. There are water stains on the foundation. There are also some foundation issues.
I am still moving, just not into that particular house. It's disappointing, but that's how it goes sometimes.

I remember there was one house I really liked a lot and my realtor, as we we were walking around, pulled away some of the furniture that was all piled in the middle of the room. I assumed they were packing or whatever, but the homeowners intentionally did that to hide the buckled flooring.
Long-neglected maintenance is concerning for sure.
