A native Californian transplanted in southern Illinois.Yesterday I ended up leaving work just after lunch to take my sick Bree to the vet. Bree has been staying with my daughter. (Bree was originally adopted by ex-h as a pet for daughter.) Daughter said Bree was vomiting and lethargic. Bree wouldn't eat or drink, and even declined to eat gound beef! Daughter was very worried.
And I had been patting myself on the back for my spending this month. Isn't that the way it goes?
It turned out Bree has a kidney infection. The vet says she has a good shot at recovery.
I "paid" (via credit card) $299 yesterday, and will owe another $25 for each day she stays overnight. Later today they will advise me if they feel she can leave or if they recommend she stay another day. She is on an IV for dehydration.
While we were waiting for the results of Bree's bloodwork, daughter and I walked over to a nearby Starbucks, that was $11. Also, since DD was not in a particular hurry to go home and we hadn't hung out in a while, I treated us both to a movie, Oz The Great and Terrible, that was $21.
