I like my neighborhood so much better now!
I think they must have moved out last weekend when I was in Redding. Today painters are painting the interior of the house, so I Googled and yep, escrow closed this past Wednesday. Yay!

In that post I mention that my daughter's cat (Darth McBeady Paws) died after ingesting something poisonous. Cats do get into things, but this cat was a homebody and the incident occurred shortly after the neighbor threatened to poison Nala. I took the cat to the vet but he didn't make it.
There was a family living across the street from me who's dog was poisoned while in their back yard. That dog died from the poison. The man of the family stated he believed this particular neighbor was responsible as he had complained about their dog barking several times. They were renting and moved immediately afterwards.
He did not like animals and had some sort of fixation on Nala. He would growl and bark at her, get down low and stomp his feet, etc. Of course, she would bark furiously at him. Then he would call Animal Control and complain abour her excessive barking. The Animal Control Officer would then contact me. He approached my BF in my front yard once and asked him why Nala is so "weird". He also told me once that there is something wrong with her as dogs know "good people" from "bad people". I think she had it right.
When I sued his mother over the fence, he told the judge that I had Nala specially trained to bark at him. I said calmly "that is not true" and he became agitated and said "yes it is true! yes it is true!". The judge cut him off and said "Dogs are territorial. They bark."
I feel sorry for his new neighbors, but I am so delighted to be rid of him.
