Car Fund Update:

I received $4.25 from HauserNet and added that to car fund. With that deposit plus yesterday's interest, it is up to $383.72

Credit Card Rewards Update:

My Wells Fargo Home Rewards Visa still gets some use. It automatically redeems in increments of $25. When the billing cycle closed last week, sufficient rewards were available and so $25 was applied to my mortgage balance. So, I made another mortgage chip despite myself.

Oh, a milestone reached! If I cashed in my traditional IRAs allowing 20% to be withheld, cashed in my Roth, and used my available cash....I could pay off my mortgage and have $5,242.02 left! Of course, I'd have to save as much as I could to pay the big tax bill that was looming on the horizon, but I'd be debt free, baby!

I have no intention of doing this, it's just a cool milestone.

According to Trulia today, my home value is 179k right now! I hope that is true, but I am skeptical. If it were true, I wouldn't be upside down very much (factoring in selling costs, still a bit upside down). But Redfin and Zillow are both up, too. So, the trend is exciting. Once again, I am using the average of the three values in my NW statement.

This month my home value is an average of the values given by Redfin, Trulia, and Zillow.

I was not able to get an estimate of my car value from kbb.com. The site has changed a bit and it seems now you must register first. I didn't want to register, so I just wrote the value down $100 and called it good.

Since I was not able to update my home and car value estimates on June 30th, I have just left them alone. The estimates are those from May 31st.

I continue to think Zillow has my home value too low. Trulia says 137k, which may or may not be true, but nonetheless does make me .

This is the highest my net worth has been in quite a few years. It's very encouraging. I'm no spring chicken, so I need it to climb quite a bit during the next two decades.
